By 1939 this engine was recognised as one of the most outstanding power units available on the british market and if any criticism could be levelled against the chassis to which it was then fitted, it was that road holding and suspension were hardly up to the extremely high cruising speed made possible by the 90 h.p unit
The engine arrangement had 90 degree valves in the detachable cylinder head, which was hemispherical combustion chambers. The valve rockers are operated by short vertical push rods from twin camshafts carried high in the cylinder block
These Rileys were an extremely good vehicle. The brakes tested on the car were admirable.
We carried out a full ground up restoration on this beautiful 2.5litre Riley.
From Bodywork, All coachwork, Paintwork inside and out, trim-work, All interior french polishing, chrome-work and mechanical work.
