Bristol 403’s were only produced between 1953 and 1955.

Our example we have at hand is a 1954. The 403’s were the third of the five Bristols powered by the BMW derived pushrod straight six engine.

It replaced the Bristol 401 and 402 in 1953 and continued production for 2 years.

The 403 had many mechanical improvements, the 1971 cc six cylinder engine was modified by using bigger valves and larger main bearings.

The acceleration was also improved as the 403 could reach 60 miles per hour in 13.4 seconds compared to 16.4 seconds for the Bristol 401.

We have been commissioned to carry out the vital improvement as per original requirements to this quite sad, yet very deserving Bristol 403.

Making her into a safe and considerably ok car to drive was the main aim and intent our client had.

We had to restore and rebuild all brakes, carburettors and fuel operational system.

Our clients don’t drive her much, but at least when they do, they know they are in a safe car whilst still enjoying their beloved Rare Bristol 403
