The datsun sports was a series of roadsters by nissan in the 1960’s. The series was a predecessor to the Z-car in the fairlady line and was in actual fact an inexpensive alternative to similar shape and sizes of the european MG, triumph, fair and alfa romeo sports cars.

The fairlady saw competitors follow its introduction with examples such as honda S500, toyota sports 800 and the Daihatsu Compagno

The first car to bear the Datsun name was the 1932 Type 11 roadster, it was powered by a 495 c.c straight 4 10 hp engine. the 1931 type 11 had the same engine and was called a ‘Datson’

The example we have had the pleasure to work on is a 1970 Datsun 2000 Fairlady. We carried vast work to the wiring loom, as it had previously been worked on but many components were not working due to the poor electrical connections.

We carried out a complete engine rebuild and after completion it was shipped back to the client in Queensland
