This XUI still sports its original 1973 number plates, LPG 191, and has never been off the road. Everything about this vehicle is original, including the automatic radiator.

Restoring a Torana, especially one linked to the Bathurst races, is a labor of love for many car enthusiasts. The XUI is famous for its performance and iconic status in Australian Motorsport, particularly at the Bathurst 1000.

GMH used the car as a test vehicle to experiment with an automatic transmission and other features that never made it into production. They also fitted it with a larger fuel tank and replaced the passenger-side quarter panel to accommodate an extra filler neck.

This Torana has raced at Bathurst in 2004, 2012, and 2015 and won several awards, including the John Douglas Memorial Trophy for best unrestored car.
